"It was a very strong start from us again," Davis said of Swindon's loss.

In a preseason friendly, EASTLEIGH lost 3-2 to League Two Swindon Town after blowing a two-goal lead.

Tyrese Shade and Paul McCallum's goals in the first half gave Eastleigh the lead at Silverlake Stadium on Saturday.

But further goals from Joe Snowdon, Harry Smith, and Darren Oldaker erased the lead. Davis is happy with his team's performance despite the defeat and admitted that losing from a winning position would help his players get better.

"Once more, we had a very solid start. Two well-earned goals were scored by us. After a penetrating move put us under pressure, Ty scored a fantastic goal," Davis said.

"He achieved his objective by doing his thing. The second was when we remained inside following a prearranged play and ultimately created by being dedicated.

"We were ahead 2-0 after their guy committed a foul and we refused to allow him leave their box. You want to have a clean sheet going into halftime.

However, I'm referring about our in-season concentration and what we must do.

It was a friendly before the season. We were practicing our expected behaviours.

"We ought to have reset for the second half at 2-0. The game was turned in their advantage by their first. It made us feel differently.

"The consistent effort over the course of more than ninety minutes truly thrilled me. We let the young guys play to control the minutes, and regrettably, we gave up a few goals.

"There is something to learn about it. We would come over here and assume we would begin the season that way if we won 2-0. Having those early lessons is beneficial.

On Saturday, August 9, Eastleigh will travel to Brackley Town to begin their National League campaign.
