Charlton Athletic welcomes Charlie Kelman.

Charlton Athletic has acquired Charlie Kelman permanently for an undisclosed sum.

The 23-year-old striker left Southend United to join QPR in October 2020. Kelman has had successful loan stints with Gillingham, Leyton Orient, Wigan, and, most recently, The O's for a second time in the last five years.

"Charlie moves on with our very best wishes,"
stated CEO Christian Nourry.

Charlie stated that he wanted to move on after Leyton Orient had a fantastic League One season.

"We have worked with Charlie to accomplish this transfer while also acting in the best interests of the football club after it became apparent that he did not want to prolong his time with us."

Charlie's efforts throughout his stay in W12 are appreciated by QPR, which also wishes him further success.

"I'm really happy that we were able to sign Charlie," manager Nathan Jones continued. We had our eye on him for a long time as a player we truly wanted to sign. It was something we really pursued with our promotion. I would want to express my gratitude to the owners and the Board for their assistance in seeing this through to completion. He demonstrated his ability to score goals last year. He is a fantastic age, has played a lot of games, and has scored 27 goals. He complements our already formidable striking force and is all we could ever desire at Charlton.

Born in Basildon, Kelman was raised primarily in the United States and has earned U18 and U20 caps for his country. Before relocating to QPR in 2020, he joined Southend United in 2018.

Following that, he had loan stints at Gillingham and Leyton Orient, where he was instrumental in their promotion to Sky Bet League One. He returned to Leyton Orient last season after a stint at Wigan Athletic, where he scored 21 league goals to help them finish in sixth place.
