SWFC: Following two consecutive Championship league losses, Sheffield Wednesday needs more reinforcements.
According to The Star, Sheffield Wednesday is considering Onel Hernandez's trial.
The winger is being watched by Sheffield Wednesday during practice. SWFC needs to add some fresh talent to its ageing roster.
Hernandez, 32, is a free agent after leaving Norwich City, another Championship team, at the end of the previous campaign.
In recent years, he has been considering his alternatives. He was observed at the Owls' training ground with the players, according to The Star's most recent update on his condition. Whether they will sign him up is still up in the air.
In May, when he was leaving Carrow Road, he told the BBC: "This week has been really traumatic for me. It's still hard for me to believe it's over. Even though I'm not a guy who cries a lot, there were times when I was sitting at home and some fan letters moved me in some way. Holding it in is difficult, but I had to try.
"It's not only because of the success we had back in the day when we got the promotions, it's also how you communicate with the fans," he continued.
The Sheffield Wednesday eye Onel Hernandez
Hernandez might be a valuable addition to Sheffield Wednesday's offensive line. Should he sign, SWFC would have another much-needed option at the top of the pitch.
He would also provide their ranks some much-needed experience. To date in his career, he has made 435 appearances and scored 35 goals.
The Cuban international was recruited by Norwich City in 2018, and he made 207 appearances for the Canaries overall, scoring 15 goals.
The East Anglian team also loaned him to Birmingham City and Middlesbrough. Statistics for Onel Hernandez since moving to England
How is Sheffield Wednesday doing now?
Hernandez may be acquired by Sheffield Wednesday for nothing. SWFC will be considering a possible offer of a contract.
After losing to Leicester City on the first day, the Owls suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Stoke City over the weekend. Henrik Pedersen's team is in dire need of reinforcements after a difficult start to the campaign.
In an attempt to earn their first points of the season, they will return to action on Saturday when they travel to the Racecourse Ground to play Wrexham.
Following their promotion from League One under Phil Parkinson, their next opponents have also lost their opening two games to Southampton and West Brom.
