Stéphan cautions against complacency in spite of QPR's winning streak.

After winning their last three SkyBet Championship games, Julien Stéphan has cautioned his players against getting ahead of themselves.

Last time, the R's defeated Stoke City 1-0 to support victories against rivals Charlton Athletic of London and Wrexham.

It is a welcome change in form for QPR, who had only managed one point from their first three league games, including a humiliating 7-1 loss to Coventry City on the road.

Additionally, Stéphan is committed to making sure his team doesn't allow any opportunity for complacency as they attempt to extend their winning streak.

He told qpr.co.uk: "A performance is a combination of ambition and humility, therefore we need to be ambitious in our approach to playing, our preparation for the game, and the fact that we want to win every game when we get onto the pitch.

We must, however, maintain our humility and understand that we can lose to any squad if we are not at our best all the time.

The main obstacle for me, particularly after three consecutive victories, is striking a healthy balance between desire, humility, and confidence.

Sometimes—and this is human—when you are in good form and physical condition, you can accomplish only 5% less, and in the end, that 5% less makes all the difference. I want to continue concentrating on that. To be honest, it's not the case. The guys performed admirably this week.

This weekend, the West Londoners travel to South Yorkshire to play Sheffield Wednesday, who are feeling upbeat following their season-opening victory over Portsmouth.

Despite Wednesday's well-documented off-field issues, Stéphan believes their opponents will be fired up following their 2-0 triumph at Fratton Park last Saturday.

"They played a good game in terms of organisation and discipline," he added. Both at the start of the first half and the start of the second half, they scored rapidly. They handled the matter quite nicely after that.

They played strong defence and likely had two more scoring opportunities. Therefore, I believe it will greatly boost their confidence.

We are aware that our confidence levels before and after Charlton differed significantly. We may thus assume that it will be the same for them.

"I believe they will start very quickly and will try to put us under pressure at the beginning of the game, so we need to be prepared to compete from the first second."

In the off-season, Stéphan managed the acquisition of 16 news players for QPR, either on loan or permanently, and the Frenchman is happy with how quickly his team has come together.

"It's a very united group," he continued. It's a great bunch because, in my opinion, they recognise how essential it is to be happy and cheerful off the pitch.

However, we must be serious, diligent and fully committed during the training session when we are on the pitch.

To be honest, they exhibit a great deal of maturity because they have managed to strike the correct balance between maintaining a positive attitude and a positive vibe among all of the players outdoors and being serious on the pitch throughout the various drills and games.

We want to maintain this vibe in the dressing room because we like watching that. It's crucial since it greatly influences your ability to perform on the pitch and how you end up winning the match.
