Sean Adarkwa scored two goals in four minutes to put the Stones ahead 3-1 after Slavi Spasov had equalised in the first half.
Scott-Morriss' free kick offered the Blues a chance to tie the score, but the home team held onto all three points. Below, you can watch Scott-Morriss' press conference following the game.
“It was a really disappointing result,” Scott-Morriss explained. “We didn’t get going early enough, and against a side like Wealdstone you get punished if you’re not switched on. We had chances, but we weren’t clinical, and in the end we left ourselves too much to do.”
Despite the setback, the 26-year-old insists confidence remains intact within the squad, pointing to recent strong displays. “We’ve shown we can compete with anyone in this league, but consistency is key. We have to put this one behind us and focus on bouncing back straight away,” he added.
Scott-Morriss also highlighted the importance of the home support at Roots Hall in lifting the players after a difficult week. “The fans have been unbelievable, especially with everything going on off the pitch. We want to give them more to cheer about, and the best way is by putting in a strong performance in the next game.”
The Shrimpers will be hoping to respond positively when they return to action, with Scott-Morriss determined to lead by example on the pitch.
