The Nigel Eady County Ground is being redeveloped, and Swindon Town is starting to move closer to a new design.
After a vote of TrustSTFC members failed to reach the 75 percent approval criteria for ascent, fans in June rejected the original proposals for the reconstruction of the Don Rogers Stand.
According to those plans, which were made public in April, the Don Rogers Stand would have received a new golden façade, glass-fronted corporate boxes, a new café/bar area, expanded hospitality and conferencing facilities and upgraded concourse amenities for fans.
Supporters' comments on the original proposals indicated that, among other things, they wanted a more thorough financial strategy, an explanation of how the redevelopment would be managed through a formal agreement to limit alterations, and more information on why the Don Rogers Stand was chosen as the starting point.
Plans for the future of the redevelopment were outlined at a Joint Venture board meeting following unofficial talks in the summer.
When the Advisory Board met in September, they talked about the specifics of that discussion and what they thought would happen next.
Three years would have passed since the stadium acquisition in 2023 when Swindon Borough Council's (SBC) buyback option on the stadium goes into effect in March.
The Club and Trust are arranging a meeting with SBC to discuss their future plans and provide them with an update on their current status, but the Council would still have two more years to exercise that.
A revised redevelopment plan will be created in the interim based on the input from the original plans, and the Joint Venture board has scheduled a second vote on it for March and April of 2026, subject to those negotiations.
In addition to assisting the club create a plan to encourage members to vote "yes" on the next proposal, the Trust has been advising the team on the opinions of the supporters as revealed by the vote and surveys conducted during the consultation process.
Following the vote, TrustSTFC Chair Neil Hutchings stated: "We are still dedicated and ready to collaborate with the club on the factors that have brought us to this point.
"The majority of the issues brought up in the feedback can be settled through contracts and agreements, but the Trust is powerless to alter how supporters perceive Clem Morfuni's ownership of the club affecting redevelopment."
