Rapid Vienna is prepared to mix things up, Dundee United warned, as the coach identifies two key strengths.

Peter Stoger thinks he knows exactly what to anticipate in the Conference League match after seeing Jim Goodwin's team.

According to Scott Burns in Vienna, Peter Stoger has warned that his Rapid Vienna team is prepared to get rough in an attempt to defeat Dundee United.

The seasoned Austrian coach thinks Jim Goodwin has significantly increased United's height and strength this summer.

According to Stoger, those will be two of Dundee United's key advantages, and they will try to counter that in tonight's Europa Conference League qualifying first-leg match at the Allianz Stadion.

"Dundee United are a really historic club," said the Rapid Vienna manager. They will be a formidable foe.

"They will provide more than they did the previous season, but they have physicality, and we will need to confront that with our own physicality and come up with solutions from a football standpoint."

I won't mention the specific players, but there are those that will pose a threat.

The team is new. We've examined their playing style, which can lead to a number of issues, particularly with their physicality.

"We've been working on that in training, and it's important to have answers to that."

Having watched his team win all four of this season's games, Stoger declined to offer his pregame prediction beyond that he wanted to win.

I'm not going to obsess over the scoreline we want to win," he said.

"I'm simply trying to concentrate on winning, even though some might argue you want to win 3-0.

"The season is just getting started.

"A successful season in Europe can benefit the club, but it doesn't guarantee a trophy."

Although United defeated UNA Strassen 2-0 overall, Stoger has seen the replays of those matches and believes that doesn't fully capture the extent of United's supremacy.

"We watched the first game live," he said. Two things were very noticeable.

Despite creating numerous opportunities,

Dundee United failed to convert many of them. The Luxembourg team also played strong defence.

"You must participate in the games on the pitch.

"It may appear unbalanced, but it's football, and what happens on the pitch determines the outcome."

The former head coach of Borussia Dortmund and Köln has faced Scottish competition in the past. In the mid-1990s, Stoger managed Ferencvaros against Celtic and played against the Scotland national team.

The team lost both at home and away in the Europa League group stages. Next week, he anticipates that Tannadice will create an insane atmosphere.

"I can't remember too well," he asserted. They weren't the best results, so I hope I didn't learn anything from them.

That was so long ago. The atmosphere at the match versus Celtic was amazing, and I believe it will be much better in the second leg the following week.

There isn't much I can learn from their experiences, but I'm genuinely looking forward to the chaotic atmosphere.

Since the season has just begun, it's difficult to predict what Dundee United will do, but we've done a lot of
