The 33-year-old brings flair, poise, and a demonstrated eye for goal to the County Ground, along with a lot of EFL experience.
In a welcome comeback to Wiltshire, Bodin, who started his football career as a young player with Swindon, completes a circle in his career.
Bodin has made over 300 senior games and made a substantial contribution with goals and assists from midfield throughout his time with Preston North End, Torquay United, and Bristol Rovers, most recently with Burton Albion.
Bodin, who is renowned for his technical skill and vision, will give Swindon's team much-needed depth and an offensive threat in the run-up to the 2025–2026 campaign.
"It feels amazing to come back to where it all began," Bodin stated upon his return. I have a lot of affection for Swindon, and I can't wait to play in front of the supporters once more. I believe I have a lot to contribute, and I'm prepared to put my all on earning the badge.
1"I always knew when I left that there was a place where I would have loved to return at a particular point in my career, and after talking to the manager, it looks like the right moment and fit is now.
This was a huge chance for me and my family to return home because it's where I'm from, my entire family is still from here, and we have many memories here from our time as young professionals."
"My deep affection for this team played a significant role in my decision to return, but the management also played a significant role. I was enthused about the way he wanted me to play and my role on the squad, which is why I wanted to join."
Billy and his family are cordially welcomed back to Swindon by the club, which also wishes him luck while he is playing at the County Ground.
