Josh Wright's Ebbsfleet United and Gareth Ainsworth's League 2 Gillingham square off in a preseason match at The Kuflink Stadium on Stonebridge Road.

Gareth Ainsworth, the manager of Gillingham, tells supporters not to worry about their preseason performance because he is eager for the real action to start.

The Gills' two remaining preseason games are against National South Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday and Isthmian Premier Dartford on Saturday.
It's an opportunity for Ainsworth to add more valuable minutes to his team before their crucial league debut on Saturday, August 2, against Accrington.

He remarked, "I'm excited for Ebbsfleet and I'm sure there'll be a big crowd."
"I'm going to do some rotation. To ensure that we are prepared for Accrington Stanley, we have two games left. My goal is to ensure that everyone is prepared for that.

"Pay no attention to the outcome until the league begins. We'll definitely compete in it.

The Gills began their preseason campaign with a victory against Dover and have since overcome a challenging slate of games. They have since played Southampton (0-1/1-3), Luton Town (0-2), and Reading (0-0).

After their unexpected summer acquisition of Max Ehmer, Ainsworth's club will next take against Ebbsfleet, a team led by former Gillingham captain Josh Wright and one that is probably going to contain another former Gillingham captain in the lineup.

Former Gillingham players Jake Hessenthaler, Ben Chapman, and Dominic Samuel are also expected to feature against the Gills, while Fleet manager Wright is supported by David Kerslake, who was no. 2 at Priestfield under Justin Edinburgh's management.

The Gills then play Dartford, coached by Ady Pennock, who will be trying to contend for promotion in the Isthmian Premier Division once more.

Despite acknowledging the significance of these games, Ainsworth said, "I dislike preseason." No, I don't.

"Really, you can't go into depth on a team. You don't glance at it to begin your analysis. It doesn't really feel like "it means everything."

"I just cannot wait to dive into the league, where everything is so important. Every run, every cross, every header, every tackle, and every finish has significance. That's what I'm anticipating.
The focus of preseason is on injuries, sports science, and numbers to ensure that our team is healthy and ready for the match.

"I have faith in my employees. With the players, they have been excellent.

"I'm itching to let some things go." It's difficult until it truly matters, even though we're working on small things here and there.

"There are two games left. Thank God, after that, we can start the season, which I'm excited about.
