QPR scores five goals in their first friendly with new arrivals.

In a behind-closed-door preseason friendly at Rangers' Heston training facility, QPR's new recruits played a part in the team's 5-0 victory over Stevenage to start the Julien Stephan era.

Arrivals in the summer The R's were represented by Timothy Akindileni, Kealey Adamson, Amadou Mbengue, and Kwame Poku.

Harvey Vale, who was hampered by a back issue after being bought from Chelsea in January, also had his first appearance and scored a goal.

Additionally, Steve Cook, who missed the season's last games due to a foot ailment, and striker Zan Celar, who had been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring injury in December, both made their comebacks.

Rangers led four points at the half in their first match since Stephan was hired as head coach. Taylor Richards and Ilias Chair also scored goals, and Karamoko Dembele scored twice.

Dembele took advantage of two defensive errors, first to put Rangers ahead and then to set up Richards for the team's third goal after Chair's free kick had made it 2-0.

After being set up by Charlie Kelman, Dembele started and completed a wonderful play for the fourth goal, handing the pass off to Chair and then running into the box to score from close range.

At 80 minutes, Vale scored a left-footed goal to make it five.

Rayan Kolli, Paul Nardi, Michael Frey, and Nicolas Madsen did not play.

Rangers said on their website on Friday that Kolli would miss the game because they "are carefully managing his training load as part of an individual programme as he works towards match fitness."

Frey, Madsen, and goalie Nardi also sustained minor ailments during training this week. Both forward Alfie Lloyd and Jake Clarke-Salter, who underwent hip surgery in January, are currently out.
