In an effort to strengthen their assault, Derby County is eager to acquire Patrick Agyemang, a striker for the USA.

With his goals and exploits, the 24-year-old is making waves across the Atlantic. On Sunday, he gave the United States the victory in a 2-1 victory over Haiti in Arlington, Texas.

Rams writer Leigh Curtis examines Agyemang in greater detail, including his remarks regarding his future, his strengths, and the opinions of well-known Americans.

Where did he come from? United States, East Hartford, Connecticut. He is only 24 years old.

What is his history? Growing up in Connecticut, Agyemang started playing football with his father and brothers when he was five years old.

Agyemang, a track athlete as well, rose through the ranks in high school, playing as a number 10 or midfielder.

He played primarily as a left winger during his two years at Eastern Connecticut State, a Division III institution, and credits Ousmane Dembele and Wilfred Zaha as his influences. In his final season at Eastern Connecticut State before transferring to the University of Rhode Island, Agyemang was awarded a Division III All-American.

Because of his power and 6' 4" size, he was then transferred to the striker's position. He was the team's top scorer in both seasons and would go on to become an important player.

In 37 games with the Rams, he scored 19 goals and dishevelled 12 assists. After that, he joined the Western Mass Pioneers, where he was instrumental in their Conference  win.

After a trade with the Colorado Rapids in 2022, he later relocated to Charlotte FC, who selected Agyemang in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. In a 3–3 draw with the Seattle Sounders, he scored his first goal in Major League Soccer.
