In Everton's friendly victory against Port Vale, Demarai Grey and Lee Trundle respond to James Garner's incredible free kick.

On Tuesday afternoon, Everton defeated Port Vale 2-1 in their friendly played behind closed doors at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With their first preseason victory over the Valiants, the Toffees got off to a strong start in their new venue.

Everton gave up the opening goal of the match, but Carlos Alcaraz's first-time goal from outside the box gave them the equaliser.

By being the first Everton men's player to score at the team's cutting-edge stadium, the Argentine created history.

Then, with a fantastic long-range free kick, James Garner gave Everton the victory.

Demarai Grey and Lee Trundle were among the many admirers and peers who responded to Garner's worldie on social media.

Lee Trundle and Demarai Grey express gratitude for James Garner's free kick during Everton's victory over Port Vale.

A video of the Toffees midfielder's amazing attempt curling into the top corner from about 25 yards out was posted by Everton and Garner.

Trundle, a die-hard Toffees supporter, uploaded multiple fire emojis, while Grey, who played for Everton from 2021 to 2023, posted an exhaled face emoji.

For the Premier League Summer Series, Everton will now travel to the United States.

In New Jersey, Chicago, and Atlanta, the Toffees will play Bournemouth, West Ham, and Manchester United, respectively.

James Garner's prospects for the future Garner made 23 appearances for the Blues altogether last season and played the entire ninety minutes in Everton's final seven league games under David Moyes.

Garner's contract with Everton only lasts until the summer of 2026, so it's unclear what the future holds for him.

Garner will have a respectable resale value at the age of 24, so the Toffees won't want to let him go for nothing next summer.
