Hull FC is struggling towards the bottom of the Super League form chart, while St Helens is at the top.

Form may determine whether a team wins a trophy, finishes outside the top six, or even avoids the wooden spoon as the regular Super League season draws to a close.

Before these crucial final few games of the season, teams from all around the top flight are starting to put together respectable streaks, while some teams have apparently hit a rough patch at the worst possible moment.
Regarding shape, you are free to examine it for as long as you like. We have decided to use the five-game criterion, so let's take a look at the Super League standings if it were based just on each team's performance during the last five rounds.

Only Super League games are shown for the sake of complete clarity and fairness.

Here is that table from bottom to top.
Although Paul Rowley's team has had yet another difficult run of results, they have now won five straight games after defeating Castleford on Sunday. With the victory against the Fords after a close loss to Warrington, things at the Salford Community Stadium have taken a dramatic turn for the better in recent weeks. However, throughout that time, St Helens and Hull FC have also thrashed them twice.

Round 18: victory against Castleford, 26–22

Round 17: Warrington Wolves defeat, 24–12
Round 16: defeating St. Helens 58-0

Round 15: defeat against Hull FC, 38-6

Round 14: defeating St. Helens 46-4

11th: Two points for the Catalan Dragons (PD: -86)
The Catalans, who have also had a difficult time since Steve McNamara left, are listed just one position above the Red Devils. Les Dracs defeated Huddersfield Giants 32-0 in Perpignan to earn their first victory under interim manager Joel Tomkins in this stretch of games, but they have also suffered crushing defeats at the hands of Wakefield Trinity and Hull KR, as well as difficult defeats at the hands of Leigh Leopards and, most recently, Warrington Wolves.

Round 18: Warrington Wolves defeat, 24–20
R15: defeat against the Leigh Leopards, 26–12.

R14: defeat to Hull KR, 68-6

10th: 2 points for the Castleford Tigers (PD: -68)
With just one victory from five games, the Castleford Tigers, the side Salford defeated this past weekend, are currently ranked tenth in the league. With four consecutive losses to the Red Devils, Huddersfield, Wigan, and Hull KR after that performance at the MKM, that triumph also came exactly at the beginning of this block versus Hull FC. They also broke up with Danny McGuire during that period.

Round 18: defeat by the Salford Red Devils, 26–22

Round 17: Huddersfield Giants defeat, 30–12

Round 16: defeat to Wigan Warriors, 26–20

Round 15: defeat to Hull KR, 48-0

Round 14: victory over Hull FC, 22–14
9th: 4 points (PD: -30) for the Huddersfield Giants
The Huddersfield Giants are now ranked ninth in this form table after two victories in five games. In the last run of games, Luke Robinson's team has defeated Warrington and Castleford handily and twice come very close to defeating Wigan Warriors. Although the Catalans have also dealt them a crushing loss, overall there are indications of improvement.

Round 18: Wigan Warriors defeat, 30–10
Round 17: victory against Castleford Tigers, 30–12.

Round 16: defeating the Catalan Dragons 32-0

Round 15: victory against Warrington Wolves, 24–16

Round 14: defeat by Wigan Warriors, 22–18

Hull FC, eighth, 4 points (PD: 9)
After a strong start to 2025—two victories in their last five games—John Cartwright's team has encountered some difficulties. Their only other victory in this block came against Salford, but their comeback victory over Wakefield Trinity last time out could portend things to come going into the final stretch. They have also suffered close defeats against Warrington, St Helens, and Castleford Tigers around that time.
Round 18: victory against Wakefield Trinity, 16–10.

Round 17: defeat to St Helens, 13–6

Round 16: Warrington Wolves defeat, 24–10

Round 15: victory against the Salford Red Devils, 38–6

Round 14: defeat by the Castleford Tigers, 22–14

Wakefield Trinity, seventh, 4 points (PD: 10)
On the real table, Hull FC and Wakefield Trinity are getting closer, and on our form table, they are only one point apart! This sequence of two victories out of five indicates that Wakefield's injury problems are finally starting to catch up with them. Though it was tainted by defeats to Hull FC, Hull KR, and Leigh as well, those victories came in terrific form, defeating Wigan Warriors and then crushing Catalans.
Round 18: defeat against Hull FC, 16–10

Round 17: defeat of the Catalan Dragons 44-6

Round 16: defeat to Hull KR, 34-10

Round 15: victory against Wigan Warriors, 16–10

Round 14: defeat against Leigh Leopards, 24–20

6th place: 6 points for Warrington Wolves (PD: -2)
With three victories in their last five games, it appears like Wire have turned around after a turbulent start to the season. Wins are like gold dust to a squad without confidence, and they are now beginning to collect some. They have won three straight games against Catalans, Salford, and Hull FC in this five-game stretch, although they have also lost to Leeds and Huddersfield.
Round 18: victory vs Catalan Dragons, 24–20

Round 17: victory against the Salford Red Devils, 24–12

Round 16: victory against Hull FC, 24–10

Round 15: Huddersfield Giants defeat, 24-16

Round 14: Leeds Rhinos defeat, 36–12.

Fifth: Six points for the Wigan Warriors (PD: 14)
Although Matt Peet's all-conquering Wigan Warriors have a three-win-out-of-five record, they may not be entirely satisfied with it as they are aiming for a trophy. They have also lost to Wakefield and Leigh Leopards for the second time this season, while they have won twice against struggling teams Huddersfield and Castleford in this block.
Round 18: victory against the Huddersfield Giants, 30–10

Round 17: defeat to the Leigh Leopards, 18–8

Round 16: victory against Castleford Tigers, 26–20

Round 15: defeat against Wakefield Trinity, 16–10

Round 14: victory against the Huddersfield Giants, 22–18

Leeds Rhinos: 6 points in fourth place PD: 28
Before this block, it appeared that Leeds Rhinos were beginning to put together a strong run, but with three victories out of five, they are currently ranked fourth on the form table. St Helens, who have defeated them twice in the last five rounds, have also been their lone weakness. Brad Arthur's team has also defeated Warrington Wolves, Leigh Leopards, and Hull KR, who are play-off opponents.
Round 18: defeating St. Helens 6-0

Round 17: victory against Hull KR, 14–8

Round 16: victory against Leigh Leopards, 48-30

Round 15: defeat to St Helens, 18–4

Round 14: victory over Warrington Wolves, 36–12.

Third: Six points for Hull KR  PD: 110
With three victories from five games, the current table-toppers are currently ranked third in the form table, but they also have the second-best points differential during that period.  With convincing victories over Catalans, Castleford, and Wakefield in the early going, they looked fantastic. However, they lost back-to-back games against play-off contenders Leigh and Leeds in the last two rounds, which will alarm Willie Peters.
Round 18: defeat against Leigh Leopards, 28–10

Round 17: Leeds Rhinos defeat, 14–8

Round 16: defeat against Wakefield Trinity 34–10

Round 15: defeat of Castelford Tigers 48-0

Round 14: defeat of the Catalan Dragons 68-6

Leigh Leopards, second: 8 points PD: 28
Leigh, who has four victories out of five, is barely off the top place and appears to be rising at the perfect moment once more. They have swept past table-topping Hull KR, Wigan Warriors, and Catalans Dragons, and they also triumphed over Wakefield in a difficult test. Their sole loss was to Leeds Rhinos in a classic at Headingley.
Round 18: victory against Hull KR, 28–10

Round 17: victory against Wigan Warriors, 18–8

Round 16: Leeds Rhinos defeat, 48-30

Round 15: defeat against the Catalan Dragons, 26–12.

Round 14: victory against Wakefield Trinity, 24–20

First: 10 points for St. Helens PD: 127
Who would have guessed it only a few months ago, but St Helens is sitting sweetly at the top of the table with a perfect five wins from five! In their recent games, Paul Wellens' team has defeated Hull FC twice, Salford Red Devils twice, and Leeds twice. They are also now enjoying a successful run of play.
Round 18: Leeds Rhinos defeat, 6-0

Round 17: victory against Hull FC, 13–6

Round 16: victory against the Salford Red Devils, 58-0

Round 15: victory against Leeds Rhinos, 18–4.

Round 14: victory against the Salford Red Devils, 46-4
