With great pleasure, Ipswich Town announces Cédric Kipré's loan signing.
The 28-year-old defender will play at Portman Road for the 2025–2026 season after joining from French team Reims.
Cédric, a strong centre-back, began his professional football career with Corby Town after graduating from Paris Saint-Germain's junior system.
After joining Motherwell in 2017, he went south of the Scottish border and signed a three-year contract with Wigan Athletic the following year.
After spending two years at the Latics, Cédric joined West Bromwich Albion, where he won the team's Players' Player of the Season and Supporters' Player of the Season awards in the 2023–24 season.
Cédric returned to France in July 2024 after joining Reims, and he played 28 games for the Red and Whites in Ligue 1 during the 2024–2025 season.
Last month, the defender played the entire ninety minutes in a friendly match against New Zealand, marking his senior debut for Ivory Coast.
Cédric, who is 6'4" and has made 174 appearances in the Championship, will improve Town's defensive options this season.

"Kieran McKenna, the manager, told me how he wanted to work, and I thought it was great. He was quite clear in everything he told me. He wants to put in a lot of work, and so do I.
I believe this season will be successful because of the manner he expressed his desire to perform.
Cedric has a lot of familiar faces at Town since he played with Jaden Philogene at Cardiff, Sam Morsy and Christian Walton at Wigan, and Dara O'Shea, Alex Palmer, Conor Townsend, and David Button at West Bromwich Albion.
He also worked under Mark Hudson while he was a member of the Bluebirds, when the Town coach was manager.
"I've watched games over the past few years because I have some friends who play with the club," Cedric remarked.
"It will be rather simple for me to get settled, which is really beneficial.

"I had a lengthy conversation with my good friend Sam (Morsy)." He has always been like a mentor to me, and I have known him since I was at Wigan.
We've stayed in contact throughout the years, and he phoned me right away to discuss the club when he learnt Ipswich was interested in me. He has told me wonderful things about the organisation and its members in response to my numerous queries.
"It was an easy decision for me. It was an easy choice, and he stated many things that inspired me.

"I enjoy making contact. I enjoy the supporters' fervour and energy; it's much different from France. This is where I like the passion.
