As Coventry City prepared for a Premier League transfer blow, Frank Lampard "can't go wrong."

According to Lee Hendrie, Coventry City "can't go wrong" with new recruit Kaine Kesler-Hayden, but his arrival at the CBS Arena opens the door for Milan van Ewijk to go.

Although other sources have stated that the transfer fee was closer to £5 million, the Sky Sports analyst thinks the Sky Blues have a good deal if they have acquired the Aston Villa right-back for the reported sum of £3.5 million. The amount the club paid for his services has not been made public.

"Kesler-Hayden for £3.5 million, you can't really go wrong," Hendrie added in reference to Frank Lampard's second summer acquisition.

He's a young guy with potential, high quality, and a good replacement, so you're not really throwing a lot of money at it for that kind of amount.

Since joining Coventry, Van Ewijk has performed admirably, and it's easy to see why Premier League teams are interested in him, including Fulham

"You would think that with Van Ewijk gone and Kesler-Hayden joining, the jigsaw puzzle would be put back together, but I genuinely believe this will be a good signing for Coventry."

In a position that the Dutchman has dominated over the past two seasons, City supporters will be hoping that Lampard can retain both right-backs to create fierce competition and depth.

Due to the lack of a known opponent to contend for the right-hand defence spot, Van Ewijk was almost always on the pitch last season.
