Worcestershire Rapids easily defeated Northamptonshire Steelbacks by six wickets thanks to a strong batting performance from KASHIF Ali.
At the County Ground, Ali scored 88 runs off of just 46 deliveries, helping the Rapids achieve the necessary 153 with 20 balls remaining.Ben Sanderson (27) was the only player to reach the 20-run mark as Northamptonshire lost wickets at regular intervals.
After 20 overs, Adam Finch (3-28), Tom Taylor (2-22), and Khurram Shahzad (2-40) had done the damage with the ball, limiting the hosts to 152-9.
In the third over of their reply, Worcestershire appeared to be in danger at 3-2 as openers Brett D'Oliveira (1) and Isaac Mohammed (1) both went cheaply.
But Ali (88) and Gareth Roderick (36) put up a third-wicket partnership of 127 runs.
With more than three overs remaining, the Rapids won thanks to a spectacular knock by Ali that included seven fours and six sixes.
That followed a 41-run loss against Yorkshire at Headingley for the Rapids.
Both Will Luxton (81) and James Wharton (88) scored runs at will as the Vikings amassed 233-6 from their 20 overs.
And to increase Yorkshire's score, 23-year-old Jordan Thompson hit three sixes in an eight-ball innings.
In response, Rapids starter D'Oliveira (53) made an impact at bat and established a strong connection with Ethan Brookes (38).
That followed a 41-run loss against Yorkshire at Headingley for the Rapids.
