As he starts his career as a Shrimper, Andrew Dallas, a forward for Southend United, has appreciated being a part of a stable team.
The Scotsman, who had previously played for Weymouth, Chesterfield, and Solihull Moors, brought an outstanding goal total from his time at Barnsley to Blues on loan on the eve of the 2025–26 season.
Dallas' pre-match news conference, which you can watch in the video below, covered his first few weeks in South Essex and his memories of the Midlands before of tomorrow's game against the Moors.
Dallas, who joined Southend in the summer, has quickly become a popular figure at Roots Hall, impressing supporters with his work rate and attacking instinct. Reflecting on his move, he admitted it was a big change but one he has thoroughly enjoyed.
“Life as a Shrimper has been brilliant so far,” Dallas said. “The fans have been welcoming, the lads in the dressing room are great, and I feel like I’ve settled into the system really well. Southend’s a club with huge history and expectation, and I want to contribute as much as I can.”
This weekend’s clash against Solihull Moors offers Dallas the chance to reunite with familiar faces, having enjoyed a successful spell at the Midlands side earlier in his career. He acknowledged the emotional side of the fixture but insisted his focus is firmly on Southend’s ambitions.
“Solihull gave me a platform, and I’ll always be grateful,” he explained. “I know how tough they are to play against, but right now it’s about us and making sure Southend keep pushing up the table. I’ll be professional, though of course it’s special to go back.”
Dallas’ energy and eye for goal could prove vital in a contest that promises to be fiercely competitive, with both clubs harbouring promotion ambitions.
