Ollie Palmer may face a former Wrexham supporter in his Swindon Town debut.

It has been a tough summer for Wrexham to say goodbye to beloved players, and the club is about to say farewell to striker Ollie Palmer as he approaches a transfer to join League Two team Swindon Town.

Mark Howard left on a free transfer, Steven Fletcher was unexpectedly released, and Paul Mullin joined Wigan Athletic.

Ollie Palmer is reportedly on the verge of joining Swindon Town, marking yet another difficult departure.

 Palmer has been a personal favourite during Wrexham's ascent;

he is an excellent target and a wonderful team player, as demonstrated on "Welcome to Wrexham."

Palmer was made available by Phil Parkinson, though, and most Wrexham fans won't be surprised by his departure.

On his Swindon Town debut, Ollie Palmer might play against Wrexham Hero.

Palmer is anticipated to sign a contract with Swindon within the next 24 hours. Palmer might make his debut this weekend at Crewe Alexander if Swindon can quicken the pace.

Time is running out since, according to EFL regulations, "documents have to be submitted prior to 12 noon on the day prior to the date of the relevant match."

Palmer may make his debut against a Wrexham hero, and Swindon will want to have all paperwork completed before that deadline.

Over the summer, Crewe sprang into action to recruit Louis Moult, a striker, on a one-year deal.

This season, Moult has made three appearances for Crewe, all of which came off the bench, for a total of 22 minutes of first-team action.

Moult, who joined Wrexham with Nuneaton Town manager Kevin Wilkin, was a fan favourite throughout his time there.

The former Stoke City player scored 23 goals in 51 games during his one season at the STōK Cae Ras, including two goals in the FA Trophy final in 2014–15.

After completing a move to Motherwell, Moult played for Preston North End, Burton Albion, and Dundee United, ending his brief tenure with Wrexham.

Given the possibility of Moult v. Palmer, Wrexham supporters might only be watching Crewe vs. Swindon this weekend.

Although they played in quite different eras, Moult and Palmer were both extremely popular attackers at Wrexham.

Last season, Moult played with Sam Dalby at Dundee United, and it was evident how much he loved Wrexham.

Dalby said that even though Moult left Wrexham back in 2015, he still goes there "quite a bit" and holds the team in high regard.

Dalby remarked, "He told me that he saw me play down there because he comes here quite a bit."

Moult has returned to England and might give Palmer a poor start to his Swindon career, even though he might start against Swindon from the bench.
