Official: Ipswich Town signs scholarship deals with Nigerian players from Everton and Arsenal

Championship team Ipswich Town confirmed their new academy scholar intake for the 2025–2026 season in a statement posted on their official website.

The Tractor Boys announced that eleven new players, including Jayden Adetiba and Kellyan Olawole, who are both eligible to play for Nigeria, have joined the team.

Last month, with their loved ones present, Adetiba and Olawole went to Portman Road to finalise scholarship agreements.

All U17 players must start the 2025–26 season on scholarship terms in accordance with EFL standards.

This will allow them to continue developing in a club's academy before they are entitled to sign a professional contract when they turn 17. Olawole joins as an Everton U17 recruit, while Adetiba has joined Ipswich Town from Arsenal.

Adetiba is from Northfleet, Kent, while Olawole, a centre-back by trade, is from Salford, Greater Manchester.

Nigeria, England, and the United Arab Emirates are the three countries that Adetiba is qualified to represent internationally.

However, because they have already capped the young player at the U17 level, the UAE is presently in the lead for his services.

With two assists in four games during the qualifying campaign, the 2009-born striker was instrumental in the UAE's advancement to the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup.

When Jayden and Olawole were at Arsenal and Everton, respectively, they were unable to make their U18 Premier League debuts.
