Josh Powell joins Colchester United on a season-long loan from Forest—none
Josh Powell has joined Colchester United from Nottingham Forest, a Premier League team.
The 20-year-old left-back is on loan for the duration of the season with the Essex club.
Powell attended the Forest Academy at a young age. He was a member of the team that won the Premier League International Cup the previous season, although he has not yet made a senior appearance for the team.
In their most recent preseason games, he also played for the senior team. Powell discussed the transfer on the club website, saying, "I'm really excited."
I was extremely interested in the chance to come here when I initially learnt about it.
"I have a lot of energy. Although I enjoy attacking, I also believe I play defence rather well.
"You can count on me to defend the back post and play strong one-on-one defence, but I can also get forward, put a few balls into the box, and hopefully help at set pieces."
