After agreeing to a new deal with Millwall this summer, defender Kamarl Grant will play for the first team for at least the first half of the season, according to head coach Alex Neil.
Grant made 57 appearances for the Ravens while on loan at Bromley for the entirety of the previous season and the final three months of the 2023–24 campaign.
Before making 40 appearances in League Two last season, the 22-year-old played the whole 180 minutes of the National League promotion final, which saw Bromley defeat Solihull Moors on penalties to earn their first-ever spot in the English Football League.
Neil said to BBC Radio London, "Kamarl, we'd like to keep in the building this year, certainly for the first half of the year in particular."
"He got his debut against Newport, we're hopeful that there will be some opportunities beyond that for him to come in and stake a claim and play."
Instead of sending Grant out on another loan, Neil stated that he was eager for him to become adjusted to life in the Championship and how he wants his Millwall team to play.
"It's always good for players to play but he's played quite a lot of games and we just want to get him prepared and ready for the level we're at rather than playing lower levels," he commented.
After losses to Bristol City and Swansea City, the Blades are still searching for their first points of the season when they go to Sheffield UnitedSheffield United on Saturday.
"We've got a couple of question marks over a couple of players for the weekend but as far as the preparation work and aiming towards Sheffield United's concerned, all that aspect's been fine," Neil stated. Additionally, he disclosed that left-back Joe Bryan has resumed training following a period of absence since mid-July.

Yes, he is doing well. He has completed a couple of days of instruction. However, Joe has only been back for a few days and has been absent for a considerable amount of time, so he isn't prepared just yet," Neil continued.
