Before the summer transfer window ends, Gillingham manager Gareth Ainsworth wants to add two more players.

Gareth Ainsworth, the manager of Gillingham, wants to add two players to his team.

Due to the absence of Conor Masterson and Shad Ogie from last weekend's 1-1 draw against Tranmere, the Gills are looking thin in defence.

"Hopefully, Shad won't be too long," Ainsworth remarked. However, it's concerning that Conor is likely a little longer.

"We might need to look for a few more players, so I'll talk to the recruitment staff and Brad and Shannon (Galinson) about it.

"Hopefully, we can bolster the ranks because I do like a small squad, but when you lose some long-term, it's tough."

Despite the Gills' apparent lack of defensive depth, Ainsworth said that he is also targeting other areas.

He went on, "I'll look at the whole squad," "I think that we will be strengthened by some acquisitions that need to be made in a few crucial places.

"As I often say, I hope to add something, but I won't say it in the media.

There will most likely be two more to add at this point. "That's going to be really important, the right players to come in."
