Southampton FC is attempting to acquire a midfielder from Sheffield Wednesday.

Sutura Kakay, an academy midfielder, is expected to leave Sheffield Wednesday, and Southampton is in the lead to sign him.

At Hillsborough, a mass evacuation is possible. Some first-team players have given notice to the club after failing to get their June salary on Monday, which means they haven't been paid for two consecutive months. They have given Wednesday 15 days to pay them what they are due before they can go for free.

According to GiveMeSport, FLW's sister publication, one of those players was Josh Windass, the highest scorer from the previous season.

Barry Bannan, Akin Famewo, and Callum Paterson—the three players the Owls extended contract offers to at the end of the season—are now also free agents.

According to The Star, the latter will not be coming back because he turned down their first offer and there were no subsequent discussions. Sheffield Wednesday's young talent is being pursued by Southampton, and Wednesday will lose more players to free agency this summer.

According to The Star, Kakay, an academy star, declined the Owls' offer of his first professional contract and is currently being pursued by other teams, including Southampton.

During the previous season, 18-year-old midfielder Kakay had the opportunity to train with the first team under manager Danny Rohl. The club gave pro contract to four players from the young team, including him. He will be the only person to refuse the Hillsborough locals.

Regardless of which team signs him next, Wednesday will be eligible for training compensation.

Either a tribunal or the two clubs themselves will settle this, which is frequently the preferable method.

Sheffield Wednesday's conflicted emotions on Sutura Kakay's anticipated exit Although losing a gifted young player like Kakay is always unfortunate for a club, given the club's current financial situation, Wednesday may benefit from the teenager's departure in the form of at least some revenue.

Another young player, Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri, is expected to leave the club and earn £1.5 million.

He's going to sign with Manchester City. This is a really wise decision for Southampton. Those at Middlewood Road obviously think highly of Kakay, which is why they gave him a pro deal.

Deals like this must be highly sought after by a club of their relative status in comparison to Wednesday.

The football industry is a cruel one. The Saints must be able to exploit teams like the Owls, who are now having difficulties.
