A transfer to the Scottish Championship team may be imminent for the former Hearts academy prospect.
As they get ready for the upcoming Championship season, Raith Rovers boss Barry Robson is keeping an eye on a former Hearts prospect.Even though Lewis Vaughan put Robson's team up at Prestonfield, the Stark's Park team lost 2-1 against Linlithgow Rose, a Lowland League team, to start their preseason program. Harry McMartin and Louis Maguire gave the home team the victory after Rovers made many substitutions in the last 30 minutes of play.
The Courier claims that Robson used the chance to evaluate former Hearts player Ethan Drysdale, who was released last month and is now searching for a new team.
Although the 19-year-old did not play in the main team while he was at Tynecastle, he was a consistent member of the Jambos' B squad and spent the second part of the previous season on loan at Partick Thistle, which resulted in Harry Milne joining Hearts. But Drysdale was unable to play for the Championship team due to an injury, and he returned to Hearts a few weeks before his release was officially announced.
According to reports, the teenage defender has been training with Raith since leaving Hearts, and he played more than 30 minutes in Saturday's loss to Linlithgow. According to The Courier, Drysdale will have another opportunity to win Robson over when his team hosts League One team Alloa Athletic in their most recent preseason match on Tuesday.
The Championship team is trying to get over the disappointment of losing out on a play-off spot in the second division last season, and they have already added goalkeepers Josh Rae and Aidan Glavin, midfielder Richard Chin, and defender Jai Rowe over the summer.
