Playmaker Omari Hutchinson of Ipswich Town is once again drawing interest from the Premier League, and it has been stated that West Ham United is considering a transfer if they are able to acquire Mohammed Kudus.
As the Tractor Boys battled to stay in the top division last season, the England youth international was among their better players; yet, they would unavoidably finish in the bottom three along with Southampton and Leicester City.
Liam Delap joined Chelsea as the only member of Kieran McKenna's team from the previous season to get a Premier League contract. But could Hutchinson be the next to leave the Suffolk team?
Omari Hutchinson's exit from Ipswich Town might be a "good deal for both parties"
Hutchinson's impressive performances at the Under-21 European Championships for England, according to FLW's Ipswich fan pundit Adam Wilkin, have only made a summer departure more likely.
However, he acknowledges that Town won't be able to stop it if the reported £35 million release clause is activated.
Adam told FLW, "I think there will be more interest in Hutchinson in the coming weeks given his Under-21 Euros performances."
"He has done a great job out there, and winning in the championship game will definitely draw in some of the suitors who are already keeping a close eye on him."
Ipswich might not have complete control over the situation, though, as West Ham has reportedly been keeping an eye on the 21-year-old in anticipation of a potential deal, according to Football Insider:
"With the release clause, I believe Ipswich is in a position where we don't really have much say in the matter if a club were to come in for him," Adam continued.
"If there are any speculations, I am aware that they are about £35 million. Given his potential, I believe that would be a great deal for any club that were interested in him.
"We could demand a little over £35 million without a release clause, but I believe it would be a good deal for both parties if someone were to trigger that clause."
It makes sense that West Ham is interested in Omari Hutchinson. Hutchinson has been characterised as a strong stylistic fit for West Ham.
He finished the previous season in the Premier League with three goals and two assists before to the Tractor Boys' relegation.
Given how they deploy their wingers and their high-dribbling, high-progression players, West Ham is the team that would best suit him. With the Hammers being eager, Adam remarked, "His skill set would suit that."
Now that he has Premier League experience and is only 21 years old, a move to a team like West Ham might be the perfect next step for Hutchinson's career.
This is especially true if another left-footed attacker like Kudus is available, which would create a void for the east Londoners to fill and make Hutchinson a stylistic fit.
However, for Ipswich, the emphasis now shifts to holding firm, unless the rumoured provision is invoked, which would be extremely difficult for McKenna and company to execute.
