Emil Riis Jakobsen has signed deal of three years for Bristol City.

 

After five years at Preston North End, where he made 186 appearances and scored 46 goals, the 27-year-old has joined City. 

 After beginning his football career at Randers' development program in his home country of Denmark, Riis joined Derby County's Under-18 team. 

 He returned to Randers after a loan during that period, where he made 59 appearances and scored 14 goals.

 The striker has drawn a lot of interest since declaring he will be leaving Preston at the end of his contract.

"It is no secret how in demand Emil was, and we are very pleased to have secured his signature," stated Technical Director Brian Tinnion. 

 "We are eager to watch him in action because he gives us additional firepower and has a wealth of Championship exper,ience." 

 "It is an exciting club with some young players in the squad with a lot of potential," Riis said after signing.

 I am thrilled to be here and hope that I can contribute to the goal of taking the club to the next level since it has the proper goals for me. 

 "I want to contribute to the team by scoring goals."
