On one "ridiculous offer" condition, Davis Keillor-Dunn is predicted to depart Barnsley.

Until the very end of the summer transfer window, Davis Keillor-Dunn is probably going to be a Barnsley departure target

In League One, Keillor-Dunn has scored twice in as many games, adding to his 18 goals from the previous season, giving him yet another impressive start to the season.

His outstanding accomplishments have won him the admiration of many and the interest of some elite clubs, including Championship teams. The two teams most frequently linked to the 28-year-old this summer are Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic.

It is not necessary for Barnsley to worry about losing Davis Keillor-Dunn.

Their interest in him will undoubtedly increase if he maintains this excellent play and those two sides struggle to score goals.

However, Barnsley fan analyst Andy Symcox of Football League World is unconcerned by that. Beyond September 1st, when the transfer window closes, he cannot imagine a future without Keillor-Dunn at Oakwell.

"Regarding Davis Keillor-Dunn, I would be very surprised if other clubs, particularly from the Championship, hadn't already shown an interest in him," Symcox stated.

"I counted roughly nine different clubs that we had allegedly sold him to over the course of the summer, all of which were patently untrue.

Additionally, I've heard that we rejected a £5 million bid for him, though this was unverified and might have been way off the mark. "I think other teams would value him more than that at the current costs.

I don't believe the financial ramifications of maintaining Davis are quite as severe as they were, though, given that the team has let go of or moved on about 20 players and considerably less is joining. We don't need to sell, in my opinion.

"I believe that Davis is content in Oakwell, and I believe that we will finish the season. He and David McGoldrick have developed a positive working relationship.

"The upcoming season might be different. He won't be going unless there is an absurd offer that is too good to refuse or too good to be true, even if we are unsuccessful in getting a promotion.

I don't think all the rumours will change his character or his playing style since he's a cool-headed young man.

"He's had it all summer and I don't see that ending until the last minute of the transfer window, when he will still be a Barnsley player."

Barnsley should set Davis Keillor-Dunn's price tag as high as possible.

It would be foolish for Barnsley to not try to raise the price as much as possible if they were in a position where other teams were vying for the forward's services.

In the event that the player decides to throw his toys out of his pram, Barnsley will have a lot of negotiating leverage with him and any other interested parties because he signed a three-year contract with the Tykes last summer.

Furthermore, it would be illogical for them to sell Keillor-Dunn for less than top cash considering the remaining time in the window.

The teams who want him will have to make a more urgent choice, and Barnsley wouldn't have much time to find a replacement—they should have one lined up before committing anything anyhow.
