As Hearts' Adam Forrester approaches a move to St Johnstone, transfer negotiations continue.

The Premiership right-back is being pursued by an SPFL Championship team.

The mooted loan transfer for Hearts defender Adam Forrester from St Johnstone is moving well and might be completed in a few days. The Scottish Championship team had contacted Tynecastle authorities regarding a season-long contract for the 20-year-old right-back, according to the Edinburgh News on Tuesday.

Since then, negotiations have continued. St Johnstone wants Forrester to play in Friday night's league match against Ross County, therefore they are working to finish his loan before then. Hearts claimed they would be happy to loan out the Riccarton youth academy graduate, and a verbal agreement was reached.

St Johnstone plans to deploy him as their first-choice right-back this season, but he needs more first-team experience in a competitive setting. After making his debut for the senior team in September during Liam Fox's first stint as temporary head coach, Forrester made 34 appearances for the Tynecastle team last season.

Christian Borchgrevink, a Norwegian right-back from Valerenga, is one of nine new players that have joined Gorgie since Derek McInnes took over. Borchgrevink took the right wing-back position in Hearts' opening Premiership victory against Aberdeen on Monday night, and Forrester only played 45 minutes in the team's four Premier Sports Cup matches last month.

Head coach Simo Valakari is committed to getting Saints back to the top division as soon as possible after they were demoted from the Scottish Premiership the previous season. They defeated Partick Thistle 5-1 at McDiarmid Park on Saturday to start their Championship campaign. Since Forrester was already being considered for a loan transfer, Reghan Tumilty began the game at right-back.

Hearts transfer news: the newest member has arrived

Meanwhile, earlier today, Burkina Faso international Pierre Landry Kabore finally obtained his UK work permit, completing Hearts' eighth summer acquisition. He arrived in Edinburgh a month ago and agreed to a three-year contract to leave the Estonian club JK Narva Trans. The 24-year-old is now prepared to start his career in Scotland following a drawn-out immigration procedure.

Kabore is healthy enough to start for Hearts after participating in this year's Estonian Meistriliiga, which takes place from March to November. He may play in Sunday's Premiership match against Dundee United, although McInnes and his staff will evaluate him in training first.

Kabore has two senior Burkina Faso caps and scored 22 goals in 20 league and cup games for Narva Trans this season. He could play on either the left or right flank, and he scored a lot of goals in Estonia as a striker. Throughout the upcoming season, Hearts will probably employ him across their offensive line.

"Obviously, getting Landry in has taken a little longer than we would have liked, but he's here now, and I'm happy to get it done," McInnes said on the Hearts' official website. "We are hoping he will add something a little different to what we currently have in our forward areas because his stats over the last couple of seasons speak for themselves."

His versatility is a huge benefit because he is a large, nimble man who can play across the front. Although he has demonstrated that he can integrate fast from his experience in Estonia, Scotland will be a new culture for him, so we will be patient in getting him up to speed. We will also do everything in our power to ensure that Landry succeeds at Hearts.
