Here's why Bradford City was advised to forego the emotional Nahki Wells transfer.

Nahki Wells, a former attacker for Bradford City, is allegedly amenable to rejoining the team after their promotion to League One.

Wells was released by the Robins following a postseason campaign with Bristol City that ended in their defeat to Sheffield United in the play-off semi-finals. This revelation has prompted interest from a few teams, including two of his former ones.

Alan Nixon claims that both Bradford and Huddersfield Town, who are now in League One, are interested in re-signing the 35-year-old. Wells would want to play in the Championship the next season, therefore a move for the Bermuda international would not be easy for either team.
Nahki Wells' transfer was determined to be inappropriate for Bradford.

Seeing Wells, who rose to prominence in football with the Bantams, return to Valley Parade when the team returns to the third division would be something of a fantasy. Having said that, Boris Thomson, a Bradford fan commentator for Football League World, would not want to see this particular transfer this summer.

"I think every Bradford City supporter would like to see Nahki Wells return, but it's one thing to see him return and be the best choice for us moving forward," he stated.

"He is thirty-five years old. He is older than Andy Cook, and in order to complement Cook going forward, we need to recruit a young striker with Wells's style of play—some type of running behind guy with a little speed.
Even though it would be fantastic to have him return, I don't think it would be the best course of action for us moving ahead, even though I think every Bradford supporter would like it given how much of a legend he has been to us over the years.

"And to be honest, I'll be I would be highly surprised if he came to us, and if he does it will be for a lot of money that, in an unbiased way, I would say probably could be spent better on someone younger, someone who's probably more athletically capable than Wells nowadays and someone who is going to be the right option going forward."
Even though he is nearing the twilight of his career, he is still a mobility menace, and against League One's less mobile defenders, his explosiveness would only seem better. Unless someone else beats them to Wells, Bradford shouldn't rule out making the move.
