When the Sky Blues consider the attacker's next move this summer—if there is one at all—Frank Lampard has predicted that young Kai Andrews will grow up to be a "big player" for Coventry City.
The teenager made an impression throughout the evening as City easily defeated Bristol Rovers 2-0 at the Memorial Stadium in their most recent preseason friendly on Wednesday, with playmaker Andrews being the only one of 21 senior players to play all 90 minutes.
Although Lampard, who has obviously enjoyed working with the winger this summer, hasn't completely ruled out the possibility of another loan, he would be more than happy to have Andrews available this Championship season.
Wales youth international Andrews spent the second half of last season on loan at Motherwell in Scotland.
According to Lampard, "He's integrated already," "That's our current position. We'll see, and there are still many weeks to go, but based on his training and return, certain young players stand out for having both potential and attitude.
"His attitude is excellent. Kai possesses that. He wants to improve, so you can work with him. You don't have to tell some athletes that every day counts, but Kai doesn't.
"I think he's going to be a big player for Coventry. It's been a pleasure working with him. He's currently in our squad and, as you can see at Bristol Rovers, he plays 90 minutes and appears to have had another 90 minutes to play. We'll see [about the future].
It's a fantastic beginning.
