On Thursday night, the Tangerines were heartbrokenly eliminated from the Conference League.
Max Watters has cautioned that Dundee United must be competitive for the cup at Kilmarnock and that there cannot be a European hangover.
On Thursday night, United had the pain of losing to Rapid in the Conference League on penalties.
The striker believes United can be proud of their European push after scoring twice in Thursday's 2-2 draw with the Austrians.
Watters thinks it demonstrates his team's potential, but now they have to do it once again when they play Killie in the Premier Sports Cup.
He said: "Well, we'll return to work, focus on Sunday's game, and just try to get over it and move on."
"Yes, it's difficult, but we must go on because that's the nature of football.
"(I am) disappointed, but you have to carry on with your football game because we have another game on Sunday that is equally important.
Therefore, we must put it behind us and move forward. We've faced a really strong (Rapid) team in two games.
It was daunting at moments, but we were able to draw with their very dedicated supporters.
"It is a component in football. There will be a miss. Though he will be fine, he had to play for Dundee United today, which was awful.
"He has enough support from those around him to get through it."
An Austrian squad who invested millions in their team this season was more than equal to United.
Jim Goodwin's team hasn't paid anything yet, but Dario Namoo and Zac Sapsford will eventually need to pay small fees.
Julius Eskesen and Luca Stephenson have since been added for the journey to Ayrshire.
"Europe is gone, but I think everyone can see the potential this club has with the players coming in, the players returning from injury, and the players we have on the pitch already," Watters admitted.
"It's rather enjoyable to observe.
"Yes, Rapid has invested a lot of money and brought in some talented players, but we were so good at times that you could see their players and supporters were afraid when we went and did that in the first half, the entire game, and even in the final half of extra time when the younger players came on and showed what they were capable of and popped the ball around them.
"It's great to see what we're going to be like when we get players back in because we carved them open and created some good chances."
"It's really exciting because we obviously signed two more players the other day."
With four goals in his past three games, the 26-year-old, who is on loan from Barnsley, is United's star player and has immediately won over the supporters.
"Yes, it's a really good start for me personally," he said.
"Now that I have a few goals under my belt, I need to keep going, attempt to get more, support the squad, and maybe win on Sunday.
"Yes, I talked to players in this league before I started playing, and they told me that one thing about it is that the supporters are incredible; they genuinely care about their team and love football."
"Coming here simply demonstrates their excellence."
I was quite happy with their performance today.
After limping off against Rapid, Sapsford is probably going to miss out because United has a lot of long-term ailments.
